Uploading Fonts to Design Space

If you're on this page then thanks for reading our very first blog post!

One of our most asked questions within our Facebook community is how to get fonts into Design Space. We absolutely recommend you check whether you will need a commercial licence to use them on your products but we're here to help with how!

We're going to specifically touch first on how to do this from an iPad/iPhone from DaFont - Download fonts

Apps you will need include Design Space & iFont.

You can head to DaFont - Download fonts where you will find thousands, once you've chosen one you like, you can click on there and it should look like the below. This will also show where it states it is for Personal Use only and you use the email address provided to enquire about a commercial licence. The font I have chosen is Amalfi Coast.

If you wish to go ahead and download the font, you can click Download on the right hand side. This will then be found in Files on your iPhone/iPad. The font will have downloaded as a ZIP file so you will need to go into your files and click on the folder to unzip.

Once you've done this step, you can open up the app iFont. In the top right hand corner you will see a sheet with a green plus as shown below, you can click this and locate your file. It will then appear in the list below and you can click install.

You can then click settings on your phone/iPad and it will have a heading at the top saying 'Profile Download', you can tap this (if this isn't an option, go to 'General' > VPN and Decide Management' instead.

Tap on Install in the top right hand corner, if you have a device passcode you will need to enter this here. Tap on Install again in the top right hand corner and then Install again at the bottom.

Your fonts are now installed! You can go ahead and use them in supported apps!

Hope this helps answer the question and if there's anything else you'd like us to talk you through, do let us know!

Lots of love, the Ro & Co Team x
